With a career full of accolades, Agassi has gone toe-to-toe with the game’s greatest—and had a front-row seat to the rise of the ‘Big 3’ and today’s next-gen stars. In the interview, hear which current players he calls an “F-16” and a “Flying Sauer” and which one of them might be poised to have the better career.

A timely Andre story.

It’s June 6, 1999. Agassi is back in the French Open final after falling just short in 1990 and 1991. In a five-set thriller over Andrei Medvedev, he lifts the Coupe des Mousquetaires for the first time, completing the career Grand Slam. He is one of just eight men with all four major titles.

It was a memorable weekend in Paris 26 years ago, as Agassi’s now wife Steffi Graf also claimed the Roland-Garros crown that year. More on their relationship in the interview!

Speaking of Andre, Tommy Paul made history as the first American man to reach the French Open quarterfinals since Agassi in 2003. With both Paul and Frances Tiafoe advancing to the final eight, this marks the first time since 1996 that two American men have reached the Roland-Garros quarterfinals.

This was the first time since 1985 that a total of eight American women and men advanced to the fourth round.

Coco Gauff and Madison Keys both advanced to the women’s quarterfinals on Monday. Keys defeated fellow American Hailey Baptiste. We’re guaranteed an American in the women’s semifinals as Gauff and Keys face-off on Wednesday.

An impressive tournament for the Americans despite Taylor Frtiz, Emma Navarro, and Jessica Pegula all losing before the quarterfinal round.

On the brink of a dream debut at Roland-Garros last year, Lois Boisson’s rise was cruelly halted by a devastating ACL injury that sidelined her for nine months.

This year? Well, the 22-year-old French wild card, ranked No. 361, defeated World No. 3 Jessica Pegula to reach her first Grand Slam quarterfinal. This victory makes Boisson the lowest-ranked woman to reach a Grand Slam quarterfinal since 2017 and the first Frenchwoman to do so at Roland-Garros since 2017.

That match was Boisson’s first ever against a Top 20 player. She’ll do it again on Wednesday when she meets No. 6 Mirra Andreeva.

In another Round of 16 upset, Kazakhstan's Alexander Bublik defeated World No. 5 Jack Draper in four sets advancing to his first Grand Slam quarterfinal and becoming the first Kazakhstani man to reach this stage in a major tournament. As Bublik put it:

"Standing here, it's the best moment of my life, period."

To tie it all together, Bublik is the lowest-ranked man to earn two Top 10 wins at Roland-Garros since Andrei Medvedev reached the 1999 final before losing to…Andre Agassi. Bublik will face Jannik Sinner next.

It’s been both an exciting and excruciating week in Paris.

French rising star Arthur Fils withdrew from the French Open before his third-round match due to a back injury that flared up during his opener. The 20-year-old, ranked No. 14, is expected to miss several weeks as he recovers. He revealed he’s dealing with a stress fracture and plans to take four to six weeks off, though he’s unsure if he’ll be ready for the grass season or Wimbledon, per the ATP.

Casper Ruud’s run ended in a second-round loss as knee pain left the No. 7 seed visibly limited. The two-time finalist, fresh off his first Masters 1000 title in Madrid, had been managing the injury for weeks and hoped to be ready for Paris. After the match, he criticized the ATP’s ranking system as a “rat race” that pressures players to compete while hurt. Ruud now plans to take several weeks off to recover without relying on medication.
